Reality of Life

Reality of LifeLife isn't just full of happiness,
It's sunsets, it's love, it's tears.
It's the thoughts of yesterdays memories,
That can wash away all out fears.

It's that very painful experience,
That each one of us has had.
It's the laughter that fills the air,
It's the tears when you are sad.

It's loving that someone special,
That at one time made you smile.
It's the pain of losing that person,
But the memories that make it worthwhile.

It's that child in every one of us,
Although in time we'll all be old.
It's the good times we'll never forget,
It's the memories we'll always hold.

It's the hug that we all need,
When we'd rather drown in our sorrow.
It's the hope in every one of us,
That makes us hold on for tomorrow.

My Mother

My Mother

A total self commitment
Not fame nor fortune need
She gave herself completely
In thought, in word, in deed.

She never stopped to wonder
On blessings she might earn
But tried instead to teach me
And prayed that I might learn.

And now I'm older, wiser
I understand much more
And look with admiration
Her presence I adore.

Mother gave me everything
A debt I can't repay
So help me God to show her
My love in every way.

Anniversary Wishes

The young man that I married
Is not the same today
That youthful carefree spirit
Now seems so far away.

But age rewards endurance
With pleasures all its' own
With time to build a future
Together...not alone.

And so my love I mention
The years we two have shared
Have made my life worth living
Just knowing that you've cared.

Mom

Mom

Mom you're like an Angel
Sent from up above,
With all your kindness, tenderness
And everlasting Love.

You have always looked after me
And taught me right from wrong,
And when I'm down or worried
It's always you that comes along.

You're not just Mom but a friend of mine
A friend I can't replace,
And every time I think of you
All I see is your smiling face.

I thank you Mom for bearing me
And allowing me to see these times,
Because if it wasn't for you dear Mother
I could never write down these lines.

Harvest of The Heart

Harvest of The Heart

Mom, I need to talk to you
Some things I need to say
I thank the good Lord up above
For you most everyday.

I think of times when as a child
I took your love for granted
But at this painful time in life
I feel the seeds you planted.

The seeds of strength, you placed in me
Are grown and now in bloom
Although alone, I face today
Your strength is in this room.

The seeds of faith, you gave to me
Have flourished, and have stayed
As you instructed long ago
When feeling weak, I've prayed.

The seeds of love you planted deep
And nourished them with care
You watered them with many tears
And blessed them with your prayers.

So Mom, I want to thank you now
YOU are Gods greatest art
for giving me these fruits of love
"Moms Harvest of The Heart".

To My Granddaughter

To My Granddaughter

My granddaughter is Ashley
And I call her "angel wings"
She's the apple of my eye
And the reason that I sing.

Her enthusiasm is a treasure
That surrounds me night and day
Her laughter is the sun
That daily lights the way.

Her love when she sees me
Turns my world around
Her voice like an orchestra
Serenades me with beautiful sound.

She touches me like an angel
Her love a gift to my soul
And as long as God gives me life
Her presence within me is gold.

You Are...

You Are...

Someone I can count on
that I can call my friend.
Someone that will be there
forever, until the end.

You are...
Someone I can learn from
and teach a few things to.
Someone I can trust
a friend who is true blue.

You are...
Someone I can run to
when I feel alone.
Someone who can make
any place feel like home.

You are...
Someone that has been there
from the very first breath.
Someone who has stuck by me
and never, ever left.

Thank You Mom!

Seasons Of Our Life

Seasons Of Our Life

As Mothers, we are special.
There is no nobler call.
We are the Masterpiece of God.
He designed us, one and all.

His plans are always perfect.
With each season, there comes change
And, just as Summer follows Spring,
Each life He has arranged.

In the springtime of our youth,
A mother's love is always near.
She shows us how to serve the Lord,
In the growth of tender years.

She loves us unconditionally,
Has patience beyond measure.
She cultivates our eager hearts and
Thanks God for this great treasure.

As this season of our life
Gives way to summer's sun,
It's in these years we blossom
And a new phase has begun.

As a mother, she knows that danger
Into this season will creep.
So, with a prayerful heart, on bending knees,
She prays our souls He'll keep.

We're no longer tiny babies,
When a kiss could heal our pain.
It's then she listens, with her heart,
And quiets tears that fall like rain.

We, slowly, start to break the ties
Of Mother's apron strings
And, right before her very eyes,
Her little child takes wing.

Her years of prayer and teaching
Are now put to the test
As we begin the search for love,
Which is a awesome quest.

She prays that we are listening
To the sound of God's still voice.
For, if we are, she knows that "He"
Will help us make the choice.

Then, once again, the seasons change,
As we listen to God's call,
And, now, her child has made the journey
Through summer into fall.

It's in this season that life begins
The circle to complete,
As our lives change and we understand,
With the patter of little feet.

We now can know and comprehend
Just what our mother meant
When we heard her thank our God, above,
For the miracle that He sent.

Now, we will teach our children,
Just as to us was taught,
That Jesus gave His life for them
And their soul His blood has bought.

We'll teach our children to love the Lord,
As they sit down at our knee,
And, as we bow our heads to pray,
We'll remember our mother's plea.

We, too, will thank our God, above,
For the children in our arms
And with prayerful hearts on bending knees,
Pray He'll keep them safe from harm.

Now, we will watch, as our children journey
From spring and on through fall.
As they grow in spirit and in truth,
They will answer to God's call.

It's then, as Grandmothers, we reflect
On the seasons and all they've blessed,
As we step into tomorrow
And the years of winter's rest.

It's in this season we look back
At our joys and all our trials.
With thankful hearts, we turn to God
And thank Him for every mile.

God's presence has always surrounded us.
He, now, keeps us free from strife
As we journey into the future,
Through the Seasons of our Life.

Hush Little Child

Hush Little Child

Hush little child,
whimpering in dreams
your all cosy and warm,
wrapped in rainbows and moonbeams
outside the wind howls,
there's frost on the ground
And Autumn is whining,
its early warning sound
so hush my baby,
there's no cause for alarm
for in your life,
you'll face many a storm
But with God at your side,
there is nothing to fear
Because his love and affection,
will always be near.

A Bond Between a Mother and a Daughter

A Bond Between a Mother and a Daughter

Open her heart to the blessings around her.
Show her that joy and Jesus surround her.
Help her to trust in the bible, not fear it.
Teach her that fantasies are the wings of the spirit.
Guide her with love and quiet persuasion.
For she is the Lord's pleasure, his cloud of creation.

Mama's Baby

Mama's BabyI love your stubby fingers
and your crooked little toes
I love your chubby cheeks
and your little button nose
I love your big blue eyes
and your pretty auburn hair
I love your rosy lips
and your dimpled derriere
I know that you'll grow up
to be such a perfect lady
How does Mama know?
Because you're such a perfect baby

From God's Hands To Yours

From God's Hands To Yours

A miracle it is said
of each girl and boy born.
Sown seeds of Love
that parents can enjoy.

Most babies are perfection.
Although some may have a flaw
These will need acceptance.
It is God's most Holy Law.

Made in His own image,
these sweet little ones
have only just left Father
for their earthly homes.

So treat them like treasure
for that is what they are.
Little tiny bits of Heaven
having traveled so very far.

Just nourish them gently.
Like plants they will grow
Creating such loving memories,
Heavenly Father deems it so.

A child is His precious gift.
So innocent, loving and pure.
Sent from Heaven up above.
From God's Hands to yours.

Family

Family

I think about those I do not see,
Sensing that they too think of me.

So many miles I have strayed,
When I could have simply stayed.

Merely to expand the bond,
To make new memories far beyond.

Life's choices find us miles apart,
Ever close with the beat of my heart.

To relive in my minds eye,
Keeps them close and always near by.

Memories gathered from the start,
Forever alive within my heart.

My message is so simple and small.
Those three words most important of all,
I LOVE YOU!

Grandma's Prayer

Grandma's Prayer

Granddaughters are Gods special gift
To let every grandma know
That the Lord has set aside a special prayer
For when you’re feeling low.

I’m not sure if I have all the words
But they came straight from Gods heart
To let each Grandma always know
They’re loved right from the start.

Dear Grandma when I awoke today
And saw that great big sun
I knew you put it in the sky
So we could go out and have some fun.

And when I heard the robins sing
And listened to their happy tune
I remembered how you sing me to sleep
I hope you show up soon.

And when I saw that yellow butterfly
Land upon my window sill
The beauty I saw in front of me
Reminded me of Grandma, I know it always will.

I got up then and knelt and prayed
To our Lord Jesus in the sky
I thanked Him for all these beautiful things
But I had one more prayer before I said goodbye.

Dear God, when you see Grandma
Send an angel to keep her safe from harm
Then send her here to play with me
I feel safe inside her arms.

Amen
